Editor’s Notes

Greetings Dear Readers,

For the final issue of the year, we feature three poets that we’ve never published before. Welcome, Dawn, Youssef and Kerry. Our three poets bring us potatoes, the scent of winter and torn and faded maps. I hope you enjoy the issue.

Did you know that every day I share the events listed on the Bywords.ca calendar on our social media accounts to make sure that you get a daily reminder of what’s going on and don’t miss a reading, signing, storytelling showcase or slam? You can follow us on FaceBook, on Twitter. Recently we added a third option so that you can get events in your inbox daily. If you subscribe to my substack account, you can choose to subscribe only to Bywords.ca.

I continue to update the calendar. If you have spoken word, storytelling, prose or poetry events taking place in the National Capital Region, please contact me so I can add them to the calendar. You can access the calendar on the site by clicking on “events’” on the left-hand side of the site.

Thanks to our selection committee this month:

Jesse Aubin
Dan Boland
Chris Johnson
Sarah Kabamba
Margo Lapierre
Stephanie Mason
Kemisha Newman
Jade Riordan
Sonia Saikaley
Jagjeet Sharma
Marjorie Silverman
Carol A. Stephen
JC Sulzenko

I wish you all happy holidays and a joyous, calm and creative new year.

If you have questions, comments, suggestions or a good walk in the crisp cold air to offer, please contact me at amanda@bywords.ca.

See you in 2023!
