Hannah Wedge

I am a former Ottawa resident, and will be graduating from Carleton university in June 2021. When I originally applied to Carleton I was enrolled in the Journalism program, but felt anxious at the idea of weekly oral presentations and therefore switched my major to Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. I thought best not to let my anxiety defeat me completely, and so decided to study it. After my graduation in 2021, if accepted, I plan to continue my path in Psychology by completing a Master’s program in Counselling Psychology, hoping to help others like myself. I am a 24 year old female, I love reading, spending time with my Bernedoodle, and my cat Willow. I often indulge in cheese and pasta. I’m an avid coffee drinker, and have found myself in the unfortunate habit of spending 4$ a day on iced coffee’s at Starbucks each morning. I like to explore the East Coast, as that is where I reside and am from. New to the world of poetry, I found a liking for it when taking a creative writing class at Carleton with Dessa Bayrock. My poetry is mostly personal recounts. I would love to expand my abilities when it comes to writing poetry, as I find it a fascinating and therapeutic form of self-expression.
