Editor’s Notes

Dear Readers,

Welcome to the November issue of Bywords.ca. This month the site is overflowing with content. Check out the poetry of Kelly Clarke, editor of the Ottawa Arts Review; U of O student, Jeff Fry; Carleton University students Ben Ladouceur and M.A. Lithgow; former Ottawan and publisher of Bad Moon Books, Warren Layberry; and Dusty Owl Catherine MacDonald-Zytveld. In the Local Scene section you will see articles by Catharine Carroll on Bywords' two readings in October: the John Newlove Poetry Award Reading at the Ottawa International Writers Festival, and the Bywords Fall Reading at Chapters. Finally, please take a look at cb forrest's fascinating interview of Colin Morton. Morton's book "The Cabbage of Paradise" (Seraphim Editions, 2007), a poetic portrait of the German collage artist Kurt Schwitters, is being launched on November 15 at the National Library.

Hope to see you at that event and all the marvelous readings and literary doings happening in November. Please shop for Xmas gifts at the Bywords online store; we'll have a bunch of new chapbooks, including Roland Prevost's MetaFizz, and books by local poets soon!

Thanks to this month's selection committee:

Stéphanie Lafleur, Marcus McCann, Kemisha Newman, Pearl Pirie, Megan Rennie, and Victoria Vernell
and welcome back to Stéphanie.

Thank you to all of you who have submitted poems this month. Keep 'em coming.
