News from Seymour Mayne

On June 8th, the Mariupol State University hosted a worldwide presentation of the special "Canadian" issue of the major Ukrainian literary journal Vsesvit, № 1–4 (2026), featuring translations of Seymour Mayne's selected poetry and Tibor Egervari's play Merchant of Venice in Auschwitz. The meeting of authors, translators, and academics was held in a hybrid format. In Kyiv it was attended by a special guest, Her Excellency, the Ambassador of Canada in Ukraine, Natalka Cmoc. The University of Ottawa participants included the authors themselves and Dr. Natalia Vesselova, the translation project coordinator.
