Editor’s Notes

Greetings, dear readers,

I hope you are taking time to unwind before the busy holiday season begins. This month's issue features poetry by two former residents and one current resident. Also in this issue is rob mclennan's review of from Tumultétudes: The Chips & Ties Study by Margaret Christakos. Enjoy!

2012 has seen the closure of several Ottawa bookstores. At the time of this issue's publication, we are waiting to see if Collected Works will find a buyer by Christmas Eve. On behalf of Bywords, I would like to thank Craig Poile and Christopher Smith, the proprietors of Collected Works and the staff, particularly Chris Carroll, for their fabulous support of the literary community. Bywords was fortunate have held readings at the store for the past year. It was a great home and will be difficult, if not impossible to replace. We still harbour a small hope that someone will come forward to take over the store. In the meantime, stop by Collected Works and buy as many books as you can transport.

Thanks to our selection committee:

Janie Beriault
Gwen Guth
Megan McGrath
Pamela Mosher
Kemisha Newman
Claudia Coutu Radmore
Sarah-Grace Ross
Carol A. Stephen
JC Sulzenko

On behalf of Bywords, I would like to wish you all my compliments of the season.
