Liz Smith

Liz Smith is a South African–born poet and soon?to?be?retired federal public servant living in Poets’ Corner in Riverview Park, Ottawa; a neighbourhood where the trees seem to hold stories and the evenings feel made for writing. A cis?gendered gay woman and former parole officer, she finds inspiration in resilience, consequence and the quiet ways people change. Liz is a mother, daughter, sister, friend, immigrant and devoted people watcher, hoping to add “published author” to that list. She can be found on Instagram at @lizsmithwrites.
