Editor’s Notes

As I write this, the sky is full of thunder and the month of July is shaping up to be a promising one, full of literary splendour in the form of readings, magazines and poetry, including the poems that appear in this month's issue by Jamie Bradley, Sayard Gilmour and Christian McPherson.

I extend to you a special invitation to come to the Bywords Summer Reading on Sunday, July 19 at 2pm over at the friendly neighbourhood Dusty Owl Reading Series at Swizzles. John Gillies will be performing his troubadour and cabaret music for us and poets Stephanie Farrington, Shawn MacMillan, Kerri Power, Mark Sokolwoski and Dean Steadman will provide an exquisite afternoon of poesie. You can take part by simply listening or also participating in the Owl's open mic following the reading. We'll be happy to give you a copy of the new issue of the Bywords Quarterly Journal for a donation in the Owl's hat. Hoot! Hoot!
