Editor’s Notes

Greetings dear readers,

Welcome to the February issue of Bywords.ca where you will find poetry by three fine poets and a review of Karen Massey's above/ground press chapbook, "Strange Fits of Beauty & Light" by Ronnie R. Brown. I hope you enjoy the issue. Don't forget to send your poetry to submissions at bywords dot ca. Read the guidelines on the site first.

In the midst of this interminable winter, we can look forward to Ottawa's annual poetry festival, VERSeFest, which will take place at the end of March and put us in the mood for crocuses, morning light and balmy breezes. There will be 63 poets from Canada, the USA, Ireland, and Chile. You can get your passes and tickets here: versefest.ca.

There are lots of other great readings and spoken word events happening in Ottawa before the festival. As always, take a look at the Bywords.ca calendar of literary events for more information.

Thanks to our hard-working selection committee this month:

Robert Martin Evans
Jason Lamantia
Anne LeDressay
Fiona Mitchell
Pamela Mosher
Kemisha Newman
Carol A. Stephen
JC Sulzenko
