Editor’s Notes

Greetings dear readers,

The warm weather has finally arrived. Tulips are on their way. Poetry has been in full bloom all winter here at Bywords.ca. In this month's issue you'll find two poems by local writers. Enjoy. If you're a current or former Ottawan, don't forget to send us poems by April 15 for the May issue and May 15 for the June issue of Bywords.ca. Thanks to all who've sent poems for consideration and all our contributors.

VERSeFest is barely over and the Ottawa International Writers Festival is set to begin at the end of the month with all kinds of events, including poetry readings. Aside from the Writers Festival, there is a plethora of great literary and spoken word events happening in the City of Ottawa. Take a look at the Bywords.ca calendar to get the big picture. If you have literary or spoken word events in the National Capital Region, drop me a line and we'll include your event in the calendar.

While you're on the site, don't forget to visit the Bywords.ca news for updates on conferences, workshops, calls for submission and information from local publishers and authors.

Thanks to our selection committee this month:

Robert Martin Evans
Jason Lamantia
Anne LeDressay
Fiona Mitchell
Pamela Mosher
Kemisha Newman
Carol A. Stephen
JC Sulzenko
